The easiest search tool I used for RSS feeds was Google Reader. Technorati was fairly easy to search, but I didn't find anything that I would want to follow. The most confusing was Topix. I didn't care too much for their navigational tools. I found an article in School Library Journal. I looked at the different blogs and feeds that they had and subscribed to three, TeenNews, Web 2.0 News and Education Technology News. I also went to Google to search "school library learning 2.0."
Just out of curiosity, I also subscribed to Grand Ledge High School Library just to read up on the kinds of things they are doing. One of the interesting tidbits I learned is that the library system in Maricopa County has decided to do away with the Dewey Decimal Classification system and adopted a "bookstore approach to organization." There are fewer subject headings and related resources are grouped. I wonder if this is a small library system that decided to go with a nontraditional system of organization in order to cut funding so that they would not have to hire librarians. If a person can work in a retail store and pick up that system, that person could work in the Maricopa County library system. The library would be able to hire less skilled and educated professionals and pay lower wages. The article did not say what genius came up with the idea. I certainly hope that is not a trend that other library systems will adopt.

yes, I read about Mariposa. People will find that paraprofessionals can't do some of the library skills.
