I bookmark many pages on my computer. I have a really long list. I had to create folders to sort them so that I could return to those sites whenever I wanted to go back. The problem I have always faced is remembering those web pages when I am at another computer. I don't have to worry anymore with sites like delicious. I had no idea how comprehensive some of these lists are. I especially like the site, SJLearning2, for this assignment. I subscribed to the feed for this page. I liked the variety of library related tags used. I have read three interesting articles. The first was about how booksellers in the UK are protesting the idea of selling library books through the online retailer, Amazon.
The second article is about a new company, SkyRiver, that is competing with OCLC, with their bibliographic utility that can save libraries money when it comes to cataloguing. The third article discussed the concern over the "dumbing down" of the research process by teaching patrons to "google" everything. I am considering joining delicious, but I don't know how much work will be involved in setting up an account and adding my bookmarks. I liked the tags with the articles because they help narrow or broaden my search. I am a die hard googler and it is more convenient for me whenever I am away from my home computer to try different keywords.
